About Donna

Donna Blodgett’s art education began early in childhood, after school at a local artist’s barn studio, surrounded by the beauty of the Hudson Valley. That experience nurtured her creativity and inspired her to pursue art in business. After earning her AAS in graphic design in New York and a BA in Marketing, at Florida Atlantic University she excelled in advertising design. Her art career ran the gamut of unusual art gigs from painting huge banners for a world renowned hot air balloonist, painting yacht transoms to managing public relations, events and an in-house advertising department.

She left corporate to raise a family in Austin, Texas. Compelled to nurture her children’s creative souls along with the neighborhood kids, she taught art after school and summer camps with her Art School of West Austin.

With an entrepreneurial bent and joy of connecting people through laughter and art, she founded Laugh-A-Lot Art Events, mobile and virtual art workshops for private events, corporate and nonprofit teams worldwide.

While she continues to offer workshops, Donna is currently creating and showing her own creations. Using watercolor, acrylics, pen and ink, she explores the softness of the natural world, rendered with a gentle, often whimsical hand.

In her current intuitive series, she uses the natural pigments from fruits and vegetables themselves, allowing their essence to quite literally stain the page.
